Job summary

The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) seeks multiple Temporary Snow Plow Operators in and around Cheyenne and neighboring towns to perform winter snow removal and highway maintenance under limited supervision.

This is a temporary, full-time position that could last up to 9 months. Operators will work with plows, wing plows, a sander, and chemical systems, and will set up traffic control as needed.

Qualifications

• CDL required or preference per qualifications section.
• Defensive Driving Certification preferred.
• First Aid/CPR Certification preferred.
• Flagger Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and operates core and complex equipment safely and proficiently.
• Performs duties involved in removing snow and ice from roadways.
• Utilizes special computerized equipment.
• Flags traffic and sets up traffic control devices under limited supervision.
• Operates single and tandem-axle trucks with plows, wing plows, sander, and chemical systems.
