Job summary

NRG Energy, via Vivint Smart Home, is seeking Direct-to-Home Smart Home Pros for a seasonal, travel-intensive role starting summer 2026. You will install, service and troubleshoot advanced smart home tech in customer homes, while building revenue through commissions and upsells.

We value a sales mindset, customer-first attitude, and technical aptitude. A valid driver’s license and ability to relocate within 20 miles are required for success in this field role.

Qualifications

• Attitude-first hiring; we train for skill.
• Sales experience in retail, B2C, insurance, or service-based sales is a major plus.
• Customer-first attitude with diverse customers.
• Technical aptitude in home tech installations preferred.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to pass background checks; live within 20 miles of city.

Responsibilities

• Earn piece rate pay and an unlimited commission plan.
• Become an expert on smart home technology by training on industry-leading products.
• Install, service, and troubleshoot smart home technology in customer homes.
• Manage inventory and assets with a business owner mentality.
• Explain and provide detailed system capabilities and operational instructions to customers.
• Leverage service and installation appointments into leads and revenue.
• Travel to customer homes for installations and service.
