Job summary

The Department of Mental Health in the Metro Boston area is seeking a Seasonal Security Team Specialist I for a 90‑day assignment with no extension. The role requires overtime and follows a 2nd shift (3 PM–11 PM) schedule with Fridays and Saturdays off.

Responsibilities include patrolling hospital grounds, controlling traffic, screening visitors, providing personal protection, and reporting incidents. Applicants should be able to work with diverse staff and patients.

Responsibilities

• Patrol buildings, grounds, and adjacent areas to prevent trespass, theft, fire, and damage.
• Control vehicle and pedestrian traffic on hospital grounds and enforce parking rules.
• Screen visitors and direct flows within the facility.
• Provide personal protection and assist with investigations as needed.
• Assist with escorting patients to appointments and supervision of ill clients.
• Monitor and report on safety systems, alarms, and equipment.
• Prepare incident reports and document noteworthy events.
• Preserve crime scenes and assist with safety duties as directed.
