Job summary

Sugar Cane Growers Cooperative of Florida (SCGC) is seeking a Seasonal Lab Sample Technician to collect, label, and deliver samples from multiple points in the mill for lab testing. You will maintain sampling equipment cleanliness and support safe, efficient laboratory operations in the Technical Department.

The role requires basic math skills and the ability to follow instructions, with potential for rotating shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and laboratory environment preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions from supervisors and maintain procedures.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Collects routine process and production samples from designated locations across facility levels.
• Labels and delivers samples to appropriate laboratory areas for analysis.
• Performs sample transfer and conditioning to support testing and process control.
• Maintains cleanliness of sampling tools, containers, and work areas.
• Assists with inventory of sampling supplies and related materials.
• Collaborates with team members and supervisors to achieve objectives.
• Uses PPE correctly and follows safety guidelines at all times.
