Job summary

Brooklinen in West Village is seeking enthusiastic Seasonal Sales Associates to deliver premium customer experiences during the holiday season. Reporting to the Store Manager, you will balance selling with daily tasks, greet customers, and help with product storytelling.

This seasonal contract runs mid-October 2026 through January 2027. Candidates should be available up to 25 hours per week, including two weekend shifts, with potential for permanent employment after the season.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Premium selling and service execution to create a warm, inclusive shopping experience.
• Build product knowledge and educate customers on design options, promotions, and gifting.
• Follow SOPs to maintain a clean, organized sales floor and process returns per guidelines.
• Assist with stock replenishment, shipments, and stock flow for peak traffic.
• Support visual merchandising updates per HQ directives to keep displays fresh.
• Participate in daily team huddles and collaborate to ensure seamless floor coverage.
• Address routine customer questions on the floor and escalate complex issues when needed.
• Actively seek feedback and coaching to sharpen styling and service skills.

Job description

Our West Village store is gearing up for the holiday season, and we're looking for enthusiastic, customer-focused comfort enthusiasts to join us as Seasonal Sales Associates. Reporting to the Store Manager, you'll represent the Brooklinen brand by delivering welcoming, helpful, and premium customer experiences during one of our busiest times of the year.

Our stores operate with lean, agile teams, so you'll balance active selling with daily operational tasks. You'll thrive here if you are proactive, adaptable, and excited to contribute to a collaborative and supportive store culture.

This is a seasonal contract role running from mid-October 2026 through January 2027. We're looking for candidates who can:

• Work up to 25 hours per week (most schedules average 15–20 hours)

• Be available for at least two weekend shifts (Friday–Sunday)

• Work key holidays and peak periods, including the weeks before and after Black Friday, Christmas, and New Year's

Seasonal team members may be eligible to join Brooklinen as a permanent employee after the seasonal term.

What You'll Do:

• Premium Selling & Service Execution: Apply our premium selling and service model to create a warm, inclusive, and welcoming shopping experience. Greet every customer with enthusiasm, listen attentively to uncover their needs, and provide thoughtful soft home recommendations.

• Expert Product Storytelling: Build and maintain working knowledge of product features, soft home materials, and inventory availability. Confidently educate customers on design options, holiday promotions, and gifting recommendations to enhance their visit.

• Daily Operational Tasks: Follow standard operating procedures for maintaining a clean, organized sales floor and stockroom. Safely handle point-of-sale (POS) transactions and process customer returns or exchanges according to guidelines.

• Inventory Accuracy Support: Assist with standard operational workflows, including stock replenishment, checking in shipments, and managing stock flow to keep the floor fully prepared for peak traffic.

• Visual Merchandising Maintenance: Support the team in executing visual updates according to HQ directives, ensuring displays stay styled and inspiring throughout the season.

• Active Shift Collaboration: Participate in daily team huddles, communicate effectively with teammates to maintain seamless floor coverage, and contribute to a high-performing team dynamic.

• In-the-Moment Problem Solving: Address routine customer questions or concerns on the floor with optimism, using good judgment to deliver quick service resolutions or escalating complex issues to a supervisor promptly.

• Continuous Improvement: Ramp quickly by actively seeking out feedback and applying coaching from store leadership to sharpen your styling and service skills.
  

We're Looking For Someone With:

• 0–3 years of retail or customer service experience, ideally in a premium, specialized, or customer-centric environment.

• An adaptable and proactive mindset: A true doer who takes initiative on the floor, anticipates customer and operational needs, and supports daily workflows without needing constant direction.

• A passion for the "Soft Home" space: A genuine love for comfort, design, and home styling, with a desire to help customers mix and match their dream bed and bath setups.

• Strong communication and active listening skills: The natural ability to connect with diverse groups of people, demonstrate empathy, and solve problems with a positive, solution-oriented attitude.

• Familiarity with select retail and workplace systems is a plus: Experience working within an Apple-based ecosystem (iPads/Macs) and utilizing platforms like Shopify POS, Slack, and Google Workspace.

• Availability Requirements: Must be available up to 25 hours per week, including at least two weekend days (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday), with flexibility for evening, holiday, and peak-period shifts based on business needs.

• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods of time, physically move product, and lift up to 20 pounds.
  

Compensation & Benefits

At Brooklinen, we offer a competitive total compensation package determined by market data specific to our size, stage, industry, and location. The base pay for this role is $19.25 / hour.
