Job description

Overview

We’re looking for a dependable, results-driven retail professional and comfort enthusiast to join our Washington DC store as a Senior Sales Associate. Reporting to the Store Manager, you’ll serve as a keyholder responsible for opening and closing procedures and act as a trusted presence on the sales floor.

Our stores operate with lean, agile teams of approximately 6-8 people, so you’ll balance operational responsibilities with active selling. You’ll take ownership of daily workflows, model our selling and service standards, share product expertise, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

What You’ll Do:
  • Keyholder Autonomy & Shift Security: Securely manage opening and closing procedures, maintain daily cash handling and register reconciliation protocols, and ensure the store is locked and safe.

  • Premium Selling & Service Execution: Model high standards for our premium selling and service model on every shift. Greet every customer with enthusiasm, listen attentively to uncover their needs, and provide thoughtful soft home recommendations.

  • Expert Product Storytelling: Maintain deep, up-to-date knowledge of product features, soft home materials, and inventory availability. Confidently educate customers on design options, promotions, and new product launches to enhance their visit.

  • Platform-Driven Clienteling: Actively utilize our digital clienteling platform to cultivate ongoing relationships with customers, following up intentionally to drive repeat business, meet outreach goals, and build brand loyalty.

  • Inventory Accuracy Support: Partner with store leadership to maintain high standards of inventory accuracy, assist with stockroom organization, track discrepancies, and handle product replenishment.

  • Visual Merchandising Maintenance: Support the team in executing visual updates and brand stories according to HQ directives, ensuring bedding, bath, and loungewear displays are kept beautifully styled and replenished.

  • Active Shift Collaboration: Participate in daily team huddles, communicate effectively with teammates to maintain seamless floor coverage, and coordinate employee break schedules when running a shift.

  • In-the-Moment Problem Solving: Independently resolve routine customer escalations, determine appropriate service recovery paths, and troubleshoot basic inventory or POS system issues during shifts, escalating broader concerns to store leadership as needed.

  • Operational Compliance & Safety: Maintain high standards across the sales floor by ensuring the team adheres to daily safety protocols, compliance rules, and back-of-house organization guidelines.

We're Looking For Someone With:
  • 2+ years of retail experience, ideally with some exposure to keyholder duties, register opening/closing, or cash handling in a premium, specialized retail environment.

  • An adaptable, trustworthy mindset: A responsible professional who can handle the accountability of store keys and cash operations while simultaneously operating as a high-performing executor on the floor.

  • A passion for the "Soft Home" space: A genuine love for comfort, design, and home styling, with a desire to help customers mix and match their dream bed and bath setups.

  • Strong communication and active listening skills: The natural ability to connect with diverse groups of people, demonstrate empathy, and solve problems with a positive, solution-oriented attitude.

  • Familiarity with select retail and workplace systems is a plus: Experience working within an Apple-based ecosystem (iPads/Macs) and utilizing platforms like Shopify POS, NetSuite, Slack, and Google Workspace.

  • Availability Requirements: Must be available to work a minimum of 3 days per week, 2 of which must be weekend days (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday), including flexibility for evening and holiday shifts based on business needs.
