Job summary

ITRCC in Orland, IN is seeking a Seasonal Equipment Operator/Laborer to perform highway maintenance duties, follow safety protocols and operate maintenance equipment under detailed instructions. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, CDL with air brake endorsement, 1–2 years roadwork experience, snow plowing experience, and welding/bucket truck/backhoe/forklift certificates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to read and understand measurements
• Commercial Driver's License with air brake endorsement
• 1-2 years of general roadwork experience
• Previous snow plowing experience
• Working knowledge of highway maintenance practices
• Certificate in welding, bucket truck, back hoe and forklift

Responsibilities

• Performs all maintenance tasks safely and complies with safety requirements

• Performs similar maintenance activities as full-time labor positions when trained
• Complete pre-trip vehicle inspection
• Occasional patrol vehicle duties for incident response
• Check vehicle and fuel at end of shift
• Participate in snow and ice operations
• Repair signs and guardrails
• Pick up trash and debris
• Conduct inventory of supplies
• Maintain fleet vehicles and equipment safely and efficiently
• Complete required training
• All other duties as assigned
