Job summary

ITRCC in Granger, IN is seeking a Seasonal Equipment Operator/Laborer to perform highway maintenance duties under detailed instruction. This position involves operating maintenance equipment, ensuring safety, and supporting the team as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a CDL with air brake endorsement, 1-2 years of roadwork experience, and welding/bucket truck/backhoe/forklift certificates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDL with air brake endorsement required.
• 1-2 years of general roadwork experience.
• Snow plowing experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of highway maintenance practices.
• Certificate in welding, bucket truck, back hoe and forklift.

Responsibilities

• Performs all tasks safely, complies with all internal and external safety requirements, supports ITRCC's safety culture, attends all safety trainings, and completes all compliance trainings as required by ITRCC.
• Upholds ITRCC’s core values: Community, Actions, Reliability, Excellence and Safety (CARES).
• Performs similar maintenance activities as full time labor positions provide the incumbent is properly trained.
• Complete pre-trip vehicle inspection.
• Periodic assignment as a patrol vehicle for incident response and motorist aid.
• Check vehicle and fuel at the end of shift.
• Participates in snow and ice operations.
• Fix signs and guardrail.
• Pick up trash and debris.
• Conduct inventory of supplies.
• Required to maintain fleet vehicles and equipment to an acceptable standard and to operate in a safe an efficient manner.
• Complete all training that is required.
• All other duties as assigned.
