Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and understand measurements.
• Commercial Driver's License with air brake endorsement.
• 1–2 years of general roadwork experience.
• Previous snow plowing experience.
• Working knowledge of highway maintenance practices.
• Certificate in welding, bucket truck, back hoe and forklift.

Responsibilities

• Performs highway maintenance tasks safely and follows safety requirements.

• Performs similar maintenance activities as full-time labor positions when trained.
• Complete pre-trip vehicle inspections.
• Occasional patrol vehicle duty for incident response and motorist aid.
• Check vehicle and fuel at end of shift.
• Participates in snow and ice operations.
• Fix signs and guardrails.
• Pick up trash and debris.
• Conduct inventory of supplies.
• Maintain fleet vehicles and equipment to a safe standard.
• Complete required training and any other duties.
