Job summary

Medical City Lewisville is seeking a Seasonal RN for the Progressive Care Unit on days, with $55.00 per hour plus differentials. Program runs September 2026 through April 3, 2027.

The Progressive Care RN coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with medical providers for pre-operative and post-operative nursing support.

Required: RN license, ADN; BSN preferred; ACLS within 6 months; BLS within 30 days; 1 year PCU experience; PRN seasonal placement.

Qualifications

• RN license required; ADN acceptable with BSN preferred
• ACLS must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, reporting changes
• Document administration of care in the medical record
• Perform administration of prescribed medications and monitor response
• Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in PCU care
• Collaborate with providers to support pre-operative and post-operative care

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role:

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
• Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Associate Degree Required, BSN preferred
• 1 years PCU experience Required

Program Requirements

• All seasonal are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period.
• Within a close geography, you may be asked to float to another facility that has an emergent staffing need.
• Four (4) weekend shifts are required each 4 week schedule period.
• During the course of the 32-week period, the employee is required to work two (2) holiday shifts (defined by Department Manager or designee).
• Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call-off. There are no guaranteed hours by the hospital.
• Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for extra shift bonuses (D1/CND or D2/ECD)
• Registered Nurses who are in the Seasonal program will have one opportunity to pass the clinical competency evaluation.
• Current FT/PT & PRN employees are not eligible to join the Seasonal program for 2026--27.
• Current employees of HWS are not eligible for the seasonal program.
• Shifts may vary based on the needs of the department.
