Job summary

St. Davids South Austin Medical Center in Austin, TX is seeking a Seasonal Registered Nurse to join the Transplant and Cellular Therapy (TCT) unit.

This 24-bed inpatient unit delivers stem cell transplants, CAR‑T therapy, and clinical trials for adults with hematologic cancers, in partnership with Sarah Cannon. The RN will care for blood and marrow transplant patients and those with hematologic/oncologic disorders, with up to four patients.

Qualifications

• 1 year of acute nursing experience preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current Texas RN license (or Compact) with Texas license within 90 days of hire.
• BLS certification per policy.
• ACLS within first year of hire.
• OCN and/or BMTCN certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer and manage chemotherapy/biotherapy.
• Transfuse blood products.
• Manage patients with central venous access devices.
• Administer autologous and allogeneic transplants and cellular therapies under physician supervision.
• Monitor toxicities related to oncologic treatments.
• Participate in investigational protocols and interdisciplinary care.
