Ocean State Job Lot (OSJL) is seeking a Seasonal Peak Associate in Westerly, RI. This temporary position supports register, receiving, and merchandising in a fast-paced peak-season environment across designated store areas.

You will help maintain displays, stock shelves, assist customers, and participate in safety and cleanliness tasks. OSJL offers a 30% associate discount and sick time per policy.

Qualifications

• Prior merchandise receiving, handling, and stocking experience in retail or warehouse environments.
• Basic math and reading skills are required.
• Legible handwriting as well as good verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Work primarily in a climate controlled environment with constant physical tasks; must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional service and build friendly rapport using the TREaT model and foster a welcoming environment.
• Operate a cash register efficiently, handle transactions accurately, and assist customers with product inquiries and purchases.
• Promote company initiatives like donations, loyalty programs, and special offers.
• Maintain displays, restock areas, and ensure merchandising standards are met.
• Unload deliveries, organize merchandise, and prepare it for the sales floor.
• Set up and move fixtures safely as needed.
• Collaborate effectively to achieve goals and communicate improvement opportunities to store leadership.
• Understand and implement safety protocols throughout the store.
• Maintain a neat, organized, and safe environment through cleaning and janitorial tasks.
