Job summary

Ocean State Job Lot is seeking a Seasonal Peak Associate at our Marshfield, MA store to process and prepare receipts of merchandise, fixtures, and supplies. You will assist in stocking, moving goods on the sales floor and in receiving areas, and may operate a cash register as needed.

This seasonal role emphasizes teamwork and independent work to meet daily goals while following freight management processes and maintaining store appearance and organization.

Qualifications

• Prior merchandise receiving, handling, and stocking experience is preferred.
• Basic math and reading skills are required.
• Legible handwriting and good verbal and written communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Follow the Company’s freight management process when unloading.
• Merchandise fixtures and other supplies from trucks before directing them to designated areas on the sales floor.
• Prepare merchandise for the sales floor by removing it from packaging, verifying price information, and ticketing where necessary; process merchandise as directed and in accordance with Company procedures.
• Perform ongoing recovery throughout a shift as needed, such as collect trash and compact cardboard.
• Possess the ability to work independently and as a member of a team to accomplish assigned goals.
• Operate a cash register as needed.
• Recover receiving areas and sales floor prior to the end of each shift.
