Job summary

Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago is seeking three Seasonal Retail Operations Associates in Chicago, IL. The role focuses on receiving, stocking, and processing of retail and e‑commerce orders, with duties spanning merchandise handling and backroom organization.

Applicants should have 1 year of stocking/merchandising experience and be able to lift up to 50lbs. The position is part‑time and temporary, with responsibilities including shipping, stock management, and store display upkeep.

Qualifications

• 1 year of stocking & merchandising experience, including familiarity with shipping services (UPS, USPS).
• Basic math and English skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs, climb ladders, and navigate stairs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with receiving, marking, and stocking of daily merchandise for retail and e‑commerce in a consistent, organized manner.
• Process outbound customer orders for shipping promptly and accurately.
• Maintain neat backstock locations and processing areas.
• Maintain and upkeep equipment used for merchandise processing and display pieces.
• Support store ops by restocking supplies and assisting with in‑store shipping orders as needed by supervisor.
• Keep workspace clean; sweep, trash removal, recycling.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Retail Operations.
