Job summary

New York Transit Museum seeks a Seasonal Sales Associate (Part-Time) to provide friendly, professional sales support at the Brooklyn store, online, or pop-up venues. The role requires 21.5–30 hours per week with Saturdays and Sundays availability and occasional evenings.

Responsibilities include sales, ticket and membership additions, and assisting in inventory and displays, while delivering excellent customer service and product knowledge.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of retail experience preferred.
• Previous experience in sales, cash handling, and customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct normal retail operations such as sales and cash handling.
• Serve as the face of the Museum and assist customers with product information.
• Support Visitor Services with ticket sales and membership sales at the admission booth.
• Advise customers on books and gift merchandise and promote store products.
• Assist with phone orders or online orders, including picking and packing as needed.
• Assist in inventory management, track sales, and perform cycle counts.
• Move inventory between locations and price new receipts.
• Open and close procedures under supervision and maintain the sales floor.
• Create and maintain merchandise displays; support events and promotions.
