The position involves customer service, sales, ticket and membership support, and handling merchandise in three museum stores and pop-up venues. Applicants should have a High School Diploma and 1–3 years of retail experience; multilingual candidates are encouraged.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• 1-3 years of retail experience preferred.
• Previous experience in sales, cash handling, and customer service preferred.
• Visual Merchandising experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct normal retail operations such as sales, cash handling, and fiscal reconciliation.
• Serve as the face of the Museum and the MTA by providing product and exhibition information.
• Support Visitor Services by assisting in ticket sales and membership sales at the museum admission booth.
• Be knowledgeable about books and gift merchandise and advise customers accordingly.
• Help with phone orders or online orders, including picking and packing.
• Assist in Inventory Management: track sales and perform cycle counts.
• Move inventory between locations and check in new receipts.
• Perform opening and closing procedures under supervision.
• Maintain the sales floor: organize, clean, restock and display merchandise.
• Support museum management in activities and special events.
