Job summary

Boston Scally is seeking a Seasonal Retail Associate in Boston, MA to be the face of the brand on the shop floor from October through January. You'll greet customers, learn what they need, and help them leave with something they're proud to wear.

This is a hands-on role: you'll support the Store Manager and team in hitting sales goals, keeping the store sharp, and ensuring every visit reflects Boston Scally.

Seasonal Retail Associate — Boston Scally

Boston Scally Company grew out of the sarcasm, grit, and humble pride that define Boston, and out of the scally cap, the piece of headwear that has carried that culture for generations. Role Overview

As a Seasonal Retail Associate, you'll be the face of Boston Scally on the shop floor through our busiest time of year, October through January. You'll greet every customer, find out what they're looking for, and help them leave with something they're proud to wear. This is a hands-on role: you'll support the Store Manager and the team in hitting sales goals, keeping the store sharp, and making every visit feel like Boston Scally.

This is a seasonal role, but it doesn't have to end with the holidays. Strong performers may be considered for a permanent position on the team once the holiday season wraps up.

Timeframe: Seasonal, October through January (possibility to transition to permanent after the holiday season)

Hours: 5 to 20 hours per week, based on store needs

You’ll:

• Deliver friendly, personal service through every part of a customer's visit
• Approach customers, start conversations, and get to know what they need
• Use your product knowledge to make recommendations that fit
• Stay current on products, pricing, promotions, and store initiatives
• Help open and close the store as scheduled
• Keep the store clean, organized, and up to visual standards throughout the day
• Restock merchandise and help with shipments and inventory
• Ring up sales accurately and efficiently on the POS system
• Pitch in on special events, promotions, and other store initiatives
• Work with the Store Manager and team to meet sales and service goals
• Bring customer concerns or operational issues to the Store Manager when needed

What We’re Looking For

• Strong customer service skills and a genuine enjoyment of working with people
• The ability to learn product details and talk about them with confidence
• Clear, friendly communication skills
• Comfort with POS systems and basic technology, including Windows and Mac/iOS
• Dependability and punctuality
• A collaborative, team-first attitude
• The ability to stand for up to 8 hours (excluding breaks), use stairs and ladders, and safely lift up to 30 lbs
• Weekend availability is required, along with availability for evenings and holidays as needed through the holiday season

• Have experience in retail, customer service, hospitality, or a related field
• Are familiar with men's accessories and apparel
