Job summary

PepUp in Maryland is seeking a Seasonal Propane Delivery Driver for Oct through March. You will safely drive a propane delivery vehicle to customer locations, support sales and customer service, and participate in after-hours emergency deliveries as needed.

Requirements include a valid CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements, 2+ years of CDL driving experience, ability to lift 50 pounds, pass DOT physical and background checks. Overtime may occur during heating season.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL required with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.
• Minimum 2 years of CDL driving experience; Hazmat preferred but not required.
• Pass pre-employment DOT physical, drug test, and Homeland Security background check.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to take direction from district manager.
• Must be able to frequently lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Loads, secures, transports, delivers, and unloads propane to and from destinations.
• Inspects vehicle and notifies supervisor of equipment needs.
• Prepares and maintains records per regulations and procedures.
• Operates truck following safety procedures.
• Interacts with customers to provide service information and answer inquiries.
• Assists with sales initiatives.
• Participates in after-hours/weekend emergency deliveries (on-call).
• Ensures DOT requirements are met.
• Performs other duties including yard and plant maintenance or dock work.

Summary

This position requires an individual to safely drive a propane delivery vehicle to customer locations. The role also requires a positive and enthusiastic attitude toward Safety, Sales, customer Service, and Employee Teamwork, handling deliveries in all types of weather and conditions. Overtime is possible in the heating season.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Loads, secures, transports, delivers, and unloads propane to and from specified destinations.
• Inspects vehicle and notifies supervisor of needed equipment, supplies, or routine maintenance.
• Prepares and maintains records in accordance with regulations and company procedures.
• Operates truck in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Engages in daily interaction with customers and provides exceptional customer service by supplying service information and answering inquiries.
• Assists with sales initiatives.
• Performs responsibilities in on‑call rotation for after‑hours and weekend emergency deliveries or response.
• Ensures all DOT requirements are always met.
• Performs other duties as assigned, including but not limited to yard and plant maintenance or dock work.

Skills & Experience

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a Hazmat endorsement and Tanker endorsement.
• Minimum 2‑year CDL driving experience—Hazmat experience preferred but not required.
• Pass pre‑employment DOT physical, drug test, and Homeland Security Background Check.
• Good interpersonal skills and willingness to take direction from district manager.
• Employees must be capable of frequently lifting 50 pounds.

Working Conditions / Physical Demands

Driving a company vehicle. This job operates in the field, and you will be entering the customers’ homes and/or place of business. Working in hot attics or cold places must always provide an excellent and positive attitude toward the customer. While performing the duties of this job in the field, the employee is occasionally exposed to small working spaces, fumes, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions due to weather.
