Job summary

Tri Gas & Oil Co. in Federalsburg, MD is seeking a seasonal propane delivery driver. You will load, transport, and unload propane to customer locations while prioritizing safety and customer service.

The role requires a CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements, minimum 2 years of CDL driving experience, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Seasonal schedule runs October through March with potential overtime in peak season.

Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.
• Minimum 2-year CDL driving experience; Hazmat experience preferred but not required.
• Pass pre-employment DOT physical, drug test and Homeland Security Background Check.
• Good interpersonal skills and willingness to take direction from district manager.
• Employees must be capable of frequently lifting 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Loads, secures, transports, delivers, and unloads propane to and from specified destinations.
• Inspects vehicle and notifies supervisor of needed equipment, supplies, or routine maintenance.
• Prepares and maintains records in accordance with regulations and company procedures.
• Operates truck in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Engages in daily interaction with customers and provides exceptional customer service by supplying service information and answering inquiries.
• Assists with sales initiatives.
• Performs responsibilities in on-call rotation for after hours and weekend emergency deliveries or response.
• Ensures all DOT requirements are always met.
• Performs other duties as assigned, including but not limited to yard and plant maintenance or dock work.

SUMMARY

This position requires an individual to safely drive a propane delivery vehicle to customer locations. It also requires a positive and enthusiastic attitude toward safety, sales, customer service, and employee teamwork, with the ability to make deliveries in all types of weather and conditions. Overtime is possible during the heating season.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Driving a company vehicle. This job operates in the field, and you will be entering customers’ homes and/or places of business. Working in hot attics or cold places must always be approached with an excellent and positive attitude toward the customer. While performing the duties in the field, the employee is occasionally exposed to small working spaces, fumes, moving mechanical parts, vibration, and a variety of extreme conditions due to weather.
