Job summary
Medical City Dallas is seeking a Seasonal Registered Nurse for Pediatric Trauma to coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. The RN will follow established nursing models and collaborate with providers to support excellent clinical outcomes.
The role requires several pediatric trauma certifications within timeframes and a nursing degree with an active RN license. Seasonal staff work variable shifts and may float within the area as needed.
Qualifications
- RN license required or eligible.
- ACLS must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
- ENPC/PALS/TNCC certifications required within specified timeframes.
- BCLS/CPR certification required.
- Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required within 30 days.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient pain and promote effective pain management with reassessments.
- Perform procedures and document care in the medical record.
- Respond promptly to patient needs and proactively resolve issues.
- Educate patients and families about condition, plan, medications and follow-up.
- Prepare patients for future self-management and lifestyle changes.
