Job summary

City of Tucson is seeking a Food Service Worker (Non-Perm) to assist the kitchen manager in preparing meals for seniors and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen.

The position is intermittent, part-time, with duties including food prep, serving, labeling, storage, and inventory. Requires some high school and up to one year of related experience; LTO staff supervision may be involved.

Qualifications

• Education: Some high school is required.
• Work experience: under one year preferred or related.
• Preferred: experience in food preparation and handling.
• Preferred: experience in commercial, institutional, or senior nutrition environments.
• Preferred: experience leading volunteers or temporary staff.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and prepares produce for meals and assists in serving and packaging.
• Adheres to labeling, dating, and storing food at correct temperatures.
• Sets up salad bar and beverage station; keeps areas stocked and clean.
• Maintains cleanliness of equipment, utensils, and workspace.
• Cleans seating and prep areas; sweeps, mops, and disposes of trash.
• Assists in inventory; unloads and stocks supplies.
• Demonstrates organization and ability to work independently; supports team as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
