Calvert County's Department of Parks & Recreation is seeking park maintenance personnel to care for the assigned park. You will perform routine grounds, building, and equipment upkeep, following clearly outlined procedures.
This semiskilled, seasonal role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds; compensation is $17.79 per hour at multiple locations. Accommodations will be provided as needed.
Selected candidates for this position will perform park maintenance in the specific park assigned to them by the Department of Parks & Recreation.
Assists in the routine maintenance of the County park grounds, buildings, and equipment.
This maintenance work is performed at the semiskilled level. The work performed is of a routine nature and procedures and standards to be maintained are clearly outlined, and the work is carefully checked upon completion.
Performs related work as required.
Knowledge of--
Ability to--
Completion of the tenth grade.
Six months experience in grounds maintenance work.
Valid driver’s license and a current Medical Examiner’s Certificate in accordance with Federal Regulations may be required.
Must be 18 years of age.
Operation of County owned vehicle.
Subject to background investigation if employed in the Department of Parks and Recreation or Department of Public Works Buildings and Grounds.
Work requires strenuous physical effort to perform manual work involving walking over rough, uneven terrain, repeated bending, climbing, crouching, stopping, stretching, reaching or lifting objects up to 100 pounds.
