The City of Pueblo is seeking a seasonal Parks & Recreation Assistant to join our outdoor maintenance team. This non-exempt, seasonal role supports the Horticulture Specialist in maintaining flower beds, landscaped areas in parks, medians, and rights-of-way.

Duties include operating vehicles and a range of lawn and landscape equipment. Responsibilities include planting, pruning, weed control, mulch application, and irrigation system support.

Qualifications

• Must be eighteen years of age or older.
• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Must submit to and pass a pre-employment background check and motor vehicle record check.
• Must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsabilités

• Performs landscape maintenance in parks, medians, streetscapes, and rights-of-way, including trash removal, raking, planting and pruning.
• Operates light- to heavy-duty vehicles and equipment listed in the duties.
• Assists with planting annuals, perennials, shrubs and trees.
• Trims and prunes trees and shrubs and assists with limb removal after storms.
• Monitors and maintains irrigation systems and performs light equipment repairs.
