Job summary

City of Kinston is seeking a Maintenance Worker to perform manual labor such as cleaning, sweeping, cutting, weeding and digging across City areas. You may learn to operate equipment and assist in maintaining vehicles, facilities, and grounds.

Applicants should be able to work outdoors in varied weather, be willing to collaborate with others, be able to lift up to 50 pounds, and possess or obtain a valid North Carolina driver's license. Must be 18 or older.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must possess a valid North Carolina driver’s license.
• Experience with hand and yard tools or ability to learn.
• Able to perform physical tasks up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Performs manual labor such as cleaning, sweeping, cutting, weeding, and digging at City of Kinston locations.
• Assist with maintenance of vehicles, equipment, and city facilities.
• Maintain land and grounds including mowing, landscaping, pruning, planting; perform related tasks as required.
