Job description

Join to apply for the (Seasonal) Park Maintenance Worker role at Huron-Clinton Metroparks.

PAY RATE: $14.10 per hour (up to 600 hours per year or 120 days per season). Eligible part-time employees may receive up to a $5.75 per hour retention bonus for hours worked from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Additionally, eligible seasonal employees will receive a $0.60 per hour seasonal bonus for all hours worked. Click here for details.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Work activities primarily involve the maintenance of park grounds.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Perform grounds maintenance around picnic areas
• Empty trash barrels
• Pick up litter using a prod or by hand
• Mow and trim grass
• Maintain and weed flower beds
• Clean and maintain restrooms
• Snow clearing and winter maintenance

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to load, unload, and move materials between locations
• Ability to traverse sandy, marshy, or wooded areas with uneven terrain
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
• Flexibility to work varied hours based on park needs
• Ability to get along with co-workers, supervisors, and visitors
• May require schedule adjustments for special events, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to perform essential duties

• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
