Job summary

The Peoria Park District is seeking a Seasonal Park Maintenance Staff member to help keep park properties safe and inviting. You will perform mowing, trimming, litter pickup, restroom cleaning, flower bed care, and preparations for games and events under the supervision of the Park Manager.

Responsibilities include equipment operation, routine inspections, and reporting any safety concerns. Must be at least 18, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and hold a valid Illinois driver's license.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Illinois State Driver’s License.
• Ability to work weekends, evenings and events.
• Ability to follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance of park property including mowing and trimming.
• Clean and maintain restrooms and cleanup after events.
• Report vandalism or safety concerns to Park Manager.
• Set up and take down for special events.
• Operate and care for park equipment.

Job description

Duties: Under the supervision of the Park Manager, the Seasonal Park Maintenance Staff is responsible for the following:Performing all duties assigned for the maintenance of the park property. This includes various different operations, such as:Mowing with push mower or riding mowerTrimming with power weed trimmers or manuallyEmptying garbage barrels and picking up litterCleaning and maintaining public restroomsFlower beds - planting, weeding, wateringAthletic field maintenance and preparation for gamesPicnic shelter preparations and clean up after picnicsSet up and take down for special eventsAnd maintenance of all equipment.Reporting any vandalism, unusual condition, emergency situation, or incident to the Park Manager immediately.Following all safety procedures that pertain to the duties performed.
