Job summary

HCA Healthcare’s Surgery Ventures in San Antonio is hiring a Seasonal PreOp PACU RN for a temporary assignment from September 28, 2026 to December 31, 2026. The role offers $46.00 per hour, minimum 24 hours per week across 3 shifts, with emphasis on quality postoperative nursing care in an ambulatory surgery setting.

You will ensure safe postanesthesia care, manage airway and IVs, monitor patient status, and support discharge criteria while upholding the company’s mission and values.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or higher is required.
• 2+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably Preop, PACU, ER, ICU or Surgery.
• Active RN license as required by state of employment.
• BCLS Certification upon employment. online certification not acceptable.
• ACLS required within 30-days of hire.
• PALS if required by facility within 30-days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients’ care area and ensure necessary equipment and supplies are provided.
• Demonstrate proper airway management techniques.
• Monitor patients according to policy (vital signs, temperature, cardiac, etc.).
• Insert, maintain, and remove IV catheters and saline locks.
• Perform head-to-toe evaluation of patients using an approved scoring system.
• Check dressings and/or operative site and report abnormalities to the surgeon.
• Provide a safe and comforting environment for patients and family.
• Ensure patients meet discharge criteria.
