Job summary

HCA Healthcare in Austin, TX seeks a Temporary Preop/PACU Registered Nurse for a seasonal commitment to support high patient volumes during peak season. You will provide safe postoperative care until discharge, following established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include preparing care areas, airway management, monitoring vital signs, IV care, wound checks, patient comfort, and discharge planning. Requires RN license and BCLS; ACLS/PALS as needed. 24 hours/week minimum, 13-week term.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of nursing experience in clinical settings (Preop/PACU/ER/ICU or Surgery preferred).
• Active RN license as required by state of employment.
• BCLS certification required at employment start (online cert not acceptable).
• ACLS required within 30 days of hire; PALS if facility requires within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the patient care area with necessary equipment and supplies.
• Demonstrate proper airway management techniques.
• Monitor patients per policy (vital signs, temperature, cardiac).
• Insert, maintain, and remove IV catheters and saline locks.
• Perform head-to-toe evaluation using approved scoring system per policy.
