Job summary

Wonder Valley Outdoor Education Center is seeking an OE Instructor to bring hands-on, outdoor-based science learning to 4th–8th grade students. You will guide activities that integrate geology, the water cycle, and aerodynamics with leadership development and safety.

Join a collaborative team, participate in daily operations and student orientations, and lead outdoor activities such as canoeing or ropes courses when appropriate.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with enthusiasm for working with children and groups.
• Ability to lead, engage, and interact positively with youth in outdoor education settings.
• Willingness to work flexible, seasonal, and part-time hours.
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to participate in physical activities and active programming.

Responsibilities

• Teach science-based topics using the center's curriculum.
• Foster leadership, teamwork, and confidence through experiential learning.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth daily operations and orientation.
• Maintain student safety and inclusivity during activities.
• Occasionally lead outdoor adventures such as canoeing, archery, ropes courses, and nature walks.
