Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, working with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), seeks a seasonal Maintenance Repairman 1 at the French Creek State Park Complex to maintain park buildings, grounds, and equipment. Duties include carpentry, plumbing, roofing and general trades in a scenic outdoor setting.

Work hours are 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, five days a week, February through October with a leave-of-pay off-season; telework is not available.

Qualifications

Two years of general maintenance experience in building, electrical, or mechanical trades.
Any equivalent combination of experience and training that covers the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

Responsibilities

General Maintenance: repair buildings, facilities, and structures using carpentry, plumbing, roofing, and other trade skills.
Grounds Work: mow grass, trim vegetation, plant trees, and maintain turf areas.
Equipment Operation: operate and maintain mowers, trucks, power tools, and other park equipment.
Construction Support: build forms, mix and place cement, assist with basic construction tasks.
Visitor Assistance: provide information and support to park users while keeping public areas clean.
Safety Practices: follow safety rules, report hazards, and ensure proper use of tools and protective equipment.
