Job summary

YMCA of Greater Seattle is seeking a Program Coordinator to coordinate the operation of a seasonal camp program and supervise instructors. The role focuses on camper safety, activity planning, and ensuring a positive camp experience during the Fall 2026 season.

The position is full-time and seasonal, requiring living onsite at camp with regular shifts. Compensation is paid per day, with progression for returning staff, and benefits include YMCA membership and health resources.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certifications are required.
• 2+ years camping and customer service experience.
• Ability to work as a team with other leadership team.
• Ability to respond to emergency situations.
• Ability to facilitate outdoor adventure activities such as group initiatives, climbing wall, and camping.
• Ability to participate in activities that involve rigorous activity in an outdoor setting, including hiking, boating, camping and swimming.

Responsibilities

• Supervises a group of campers and staff. Ensures staff are accounting for campers and safety.
• Plans, schedules, and facilitates developmentally appropriate program activities.
• Maintains safety and cleanliness standards; monitor health needs daily.
• Ensures instructors are planning and organizing activities.
• Communicates camper/staff needs to supervisor promptly.
• Maintains equipment in sound, safe order.
• Serves as program instructor as needed.
• Attends meetings and trainings.
