Job summary

The Seattle YMCA is seeking an energetic Program Coordinator for Camp Orkila’s Fall season. You’ll coordinate operations, supervise instructors, and ensure camper safety. This is a seasonal, Authorized Driver role with strong teamwork and outdoor activity experience.

Position requires CPR and First Aid, plus 2+ years in camping or customer service. Expect high-energy days, daily shifts, and housing that may be provided on-site at camp.

Qualifications

• Current certifications in CPR and First Aid.
• 2+ years camping or customer-service experience.
• Ability to work as a team with the leadership team.
• Ability to respond to emergency situations.
• Ability to facilitate outdoor activities (group initiatives, climbing, camping).
• Ability to participate in outdoor activities including hiking, boating, camping and swimming.

Responsibilities

• Supervises a group of campers and staff; ensures safety and accountability at all times.
• Plans, schedules and facilitates developmentally appropriate activities.
• Maintains safety, cleanliness and handles health needs daily.
• Ensures instructors plan and organize activities.
• Communicates camper/staff needs to supervisor promptly.
• Maintains equipment in sound condition and participates in trainings.
• Drives as required; adheres to program policies and safety rules.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
