Job summary

Supply-Chain seeks a Seasonal Operations Supervisor to lead daily and weekly operations in the assigned area during peak season. The role involves directing activities, ensuring safety, and driving productivity while aligning with site requirements.

You will foster teamwork and a culture of continuous improvement, manage staffing to reduce overtime, and work with regional sites to share best practices and maintain high standards of quality and service.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferred.
  • Operations background with exposure to logistics.
  • Lead/supervisor/management experience in a logistics setting.

Responsibilities

  • Direct daily activity to keep a safe, clean, and fair work environment for associates.
  • Ensure tools are available and maintained for all duties.
  • Improve productivity by refining processes and optimizing associate workload.
  • Collaborate with regional sites on safety, labor sharing, and best practices.
  • Plan and adjust daily workload and staffing to minimize overtime.
  • Forecast workload, staffing, equipment, and space for shifts.
  • Communicate and enforce company policies (safety, accounting, ops, admin).
  • Analyze performance to identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Explain SOPs at preshift meetings and ensure proper hand-offs.
  • Maintain professional relations with drivers, dispatchers, and customers.
  • Execute contract requirements and document accessorial activities.
  • Maintain inventory integrity across receiving, picking, and shipping.
  • Collect performance metrics aligned with customer/vendor/site needs.

Seasonal Operations Supervisor

You'll have the chance to lead, motivate, and develop our workforce while ensuring we meet customer and site requirements. Key Accountabilities
  • Direct the necessary daily activity to ensure a safe, secure, clean and fair work environment for associates.
  • Ensure the associates have proper access to the necessary tools to perform their assigned duties and that the tools are routinely inspected and maintained
  • Organize and lead the focus on improved productivity levels in a manner that first stresses effectiveness by improving processes and secondly stresses the efficiency of associate work.
  • Collaborate with the regional sites to share in safety, labor sharing, and best practice initiatives.
  • Plan, manage, and adjust the daily workload and staffing to minimize the unplanned overtime.
  • Ensure shift/daily/weekly workload planning and volume forecasting routines are accomplished (i.e., staffing, equipment, space)
  • Ensure company policies are communicated, applied, and enforced (i.e., safety, accounting, operational, regulatory, and administrative).
  • Maximizes quality and productivity by understanding job standards for each function, and evaluating performance variances in order to identify root cause and corrective action.
  • Effectively communicate work task Standard Operating Procedures, convey key information during preshift meetings and ensure appropriate shift hand-offs.
  • Provide a professional environment with relation to external customers and vendors such as drivers, dispatchers, and customer representatives.
  • Execute daily customer / vendor contract requirements and identify accessorial activity (work outside commercial contracts) and ensure necessary documentation.
  • Ensure inventory integrity by timely and accurate receiving, picking, shipping, and inventory management.
  • Participate in the collection of performance measurements consistent with customer, vendor, and site requirements.
Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferred
  • Operations background
  • 1-2 years logistics industry experience, preferred
  • 0-3 years experience in lead/supervisor/management role
