Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in Wilmer, TX is seeking a dynamic supervisor for a short-term peak-season role. You will supervise daily and weekly operations, lead and develop associates, and ensure we meet customer and site requirements in a fast-paced environment.

You will drive continuous improvement, communicate SOPs, manage workload and staffing, and uphold safety and policy standards. This role emphasizes teamwork, accountability, and delivering quality service during peak season.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferred.
• Operations background.
• 1-2 years logistics industry experience, preferred.
• 0-3 years experience in lead/supervisor/management role.

Responsibilities

• Direct the daily activity to ensure a safe, secure, clean and fair work environment for associates.
• Ensure associates have access to necessary tools and that tools are inspected and maintained.
• Organize and lead focus on improved productivity by improving processes and efficiency of associate work.
• Collaborate with regional sites to share safety, labor and best practice initiatives.
• Plan, manage, and adjust daily workload and staffing to minimize unplanned overtime.
• Ensure shift/daily/weekly workload planning and volume forecasting routines (staffing, equipment, space).
• Communicate and enforce company policies (safety, accounting, operational, regulatory, admin).
• Maximize quality and productivity by understanding job standards and identifying root cause and corrective action.
• Communicate SOPs and key information during preshift meetings and shift hand-offs.
• Provide a professional environment with external customers and vendors (drivers, dispatchers, customer reps).
• Execute daily customer/vendor contract requirements and identify accessorial activity with necessary documentation.
• Ensure inventory integrity by receiving, picking, shipping, and inventory management.

Key Accountabilities

• Organize and lead the focus on improved productivity levels in a manner that first stresses effectiveness by improving processes and secondly stresses the efficiency of associate work.
• Collaborate with the regional sites to share in safety, labor sharing, and best practice initiatives.
• Plan, manage, and adjust the daily workload and staffing to minimize the unplanned overtime.
• Ensure shift/daily/weekly workload planning and volume forecasting routines are accomplished (i.e., staffing, equipment, space)
• Ensure company policies are communicated, applied, and enforced (i.e., safety, accounting, operational, regulatory, and administrative).
• Maximizes quality and productivity by understanding job standards for each function, and evaluating performance variances in order to identify root cause and corrective action.
• Effectively communicate work task Standard Operating Procedures, convey key information during preshift meetings and ensure appropriate shift hand-offs.
• Provide a professional environment with relation to external customers and vendors such as drivers, dispatchers, and customer representatives.
• Execute daily customer / vendor contract requirements and identify accessorial activity (work outside commercial contracts) and ensure necessary documentation.
• Ensure inventory integrity by timely and accurate receiving, picking, shipping, and inventory management.
• Participate in the collection of performance measurements consistent with customer, vendor, and site requirements.

Required Education and Experience
