Job summary

Texas Health Resources is seeking a Seasonal Patient Care Technician for the Central Staffing Office in Arlington, TX. You will float to multiple zones, provide patient care in the Emergency Department, collect data, and report significant findings to nurses.

Role is PRN with 36 hours/week, night shifts 7PM–7AM, not eligible for full-time/part-time benefits. Requires HS diploma, BCLS, and nursing student or military medical training options.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is REQUIRED.
• 1 year experience required within the last 3 years (REQUIRED) OR
• No experience required if a nursing student who has completed fundamentals or military medical training (REQUIRED)
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support certification upon hire (REQUIRED)

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to patient according to plan of care.
• Collect patient data, identify and report significant findings to nurse.
• Assist in admission/transfer/discharge.
• Provide and revise patient activities of daily living based on patient/family preferences.
• Perform technical procedures safely and proficiently.
• Take action to reduce or eliminate patient risk.
• Enter orders into computer or manual systems if applicable.
• Document accurately and appropriately.
• Adapt care to reflect patient population in collaboration with the nurse.
• Incorporate cultural/religious needs and beliefs into delivery of care.
• Keep patient environment clean and maintain a safe environment.
• Anticipate patient/family needs and respond; rounds as needed.
