Job summary

Cleveland Metroparks is seeking a Fall/Winter Group Program Seasonal Naturalist Assistant at CanalWay Center. This short-term, entry-level role supports staff with environmental education, recreation programs, gardening, hosting, and office tasks, with a focus on developing professional skills in Outdoor Experiences.

Qualifications

• Must be at least a high school junior.
• Must obtain and maintain a current first aid/CPR certification.
• Ability to engage diverse audiences in outdoor education or recreation.
• Basic knowledge of natural and/or cultural history of the region.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Supports CanalWay Center staff with educational programs, recreation programs, gardening, hosting, office work, cleaning, and other duties.
• Provides outdoor recreation and educational programs that promote conservation and environmental education.
• Assists with programs within the park district and at off-site locations.
• Participates in special events or projects as assigned.
• Drives Park District vehicles to transport equipment as required.
• Maintains and preps equipment and program materials.
