Job Description

Green Circle Growers was founded in 1968 by John van Wingerden. With just a few acres, Green Circle Growers began selling to other companies like variety stores, lumber yards, hardware stores, and grocery stores. Today, Green Circle Growers is still owned and operated by the van Wingerden family and has grown to over 170 acres of indoor growing space. Our state-of-the-art greenhouses offer many different environments to keep up with the demanding market expectations. We now provide plants to regional and national stores across the United States and Canada, offering broad products to mass merchants and growers. The retail market expects a full line of annuals in flats, containers, and baskets, while the grower line produces pre-finished containers, plugs, and liners.

Position Overview

We are looking for dependable Seasonal Merchandisers to join the Green Circle Growers team! In this role, you will manage merchandising activities at Home Depot stores across Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. This position offers flexible hours based on product sales, with a maximum of 40 hours per week.

Job Duties

1. Display, price, and handle upkeep of all annuals, perennials, and houseplants within the designated store space
2. Handle product disposal as required to maintain standards
3. Foster strong relationships with store management and associates to ensure effective collaboration
4. Coordinate with Green Circle Growers’ management to address and resolve any issues that arise
5. All other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements

1. High school diploma or relevant experience required
2. Must be 18+ years of age
3. Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
4. Dependable and punctual
5. Flexible schedule to accommodate varying work hours

Physical Environment & Requirements

1. Retail facility, occasionally outside, or in-store; possible extreme heat/cold depending on season
2. Ability to follow verbal and/or written directions
3. Frequently requires walking, lifting (up to 50lbs), carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling (up to 200lbs), bending, and crouching
4. Occasionally requires sitting, standing, fine dexterity, climbing, and handling
5. May require operating machinery, driving vehicles (truck, car, van, tug, forklift), or using tools or equipment
6. Weekends and some holidays are required (e.g., Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day)
