Job summary

Spirit Halloween is seeking a Merchandise Planner to drive financial and inventory plans for a highly seasonal retail business. You will work with Merchandising, Allocation, Store Ops, Supply Chain, IT, Finance, and Real Estate to position inventory in the right stores at the right time.

You will develop pre-season and in-season plans, reforecast as trends change, and deliver actionable recommendations to optimize sales, margin, and inventory productivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Mathematics, Analytics, or related field.
• 5+ years in merchandise planning, allocation, inventory management, or related retail field.
• Advanced Excel; experience with BI reporting or database tools preferred (Power BI, SQL, data modeling).
• Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage financial merchandise plans at department, class, store cluster, seasonal, and weekly levels.
• Build pre-season plans accounting for compressed selling window and store openings.
• Reforecast sales, inventory, margin, and receipts during the season based on performance.
• Partner with Merchandising, IT, Distribution, Logistics, Store Ops, Finance, Real Estate.
• Analyze SKU and store-level performance to maximize inventory productivity and sell-through.
• Prepare weekly and ad hoc reporting, and contribute to post-season analyses.
• Identify process improvements to enhance planning efficiency during peak seasons.
