Job summary

JCPenney in Plano, TX is seeking a Merchandise Assistant for Seasonal Home to support the Business Unit with analytical and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can prioritize with minimal supervision and balance multiple projects while maintaining accuracy.

Responsibilities include sample management, coordinating logistics, organizing displays, scheduling meetings, and maintaining data and reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Marketing, or Apparels and Textiles preferred.
• Retail experience, leadership or visual merchandising preferred.
• Minimum two years supporting a department or team.
• Ability to juggle competing priorities.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Sample management using the on-line sample log and tracking expenses.
• Order samples, confirm receipts and correct items.
• Organize, purge and display all samples with the team.
• Maintain sample rooms and ship packages to managers.
• Schedule Business Unit meetings.
• Prepare and update data, reports and records for management.
• Handle routine inquiries and correspondence.
• Perform clerical duties: data entry, mail, filing, scheduling.
• Tabulate and verify data across a wide range of subjects.
