Job summary

JCPenney is seeking a Merchandise Assistant for its Dallas operations. You will support the Business Unit with analytical, project and administrative tasks, manage samples, organize meetings, and maintain data and records with a high level of accuracy.

The role requires self-motivation, strong organizational skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines while solving problems. Prior retail experience and MS Office proficiency are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Marketing, or Apparels and Textiles preferred.
• Minimum two years supporting a department or team.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Sample management and tracking samples using the online log and tracking expenses.
• Order samples and confirm online receipt and correct samples.
• Organize, purge, and display all samples with the team.
• Maintain sample rooms and movement of samples and packages.
• Schedule Business Unit meetings.
• Prepare and maintain data, reports and records for management.
• Handle routine inquiries and correspondence and respond to emails.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Marketing, or Apparels and Textiles preferred.
