Job summary

MainStreet Family Care in Wake Forest, NC is seeking a Seasonal Medical Assistant to support urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine during the busy cold and flu season from October through February. You will assist in clinical and clerical tasks, rotate on two shifts, and help deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Prior medical assisting experience or education is beneficial but not required.
• Medical assisting certification is not required.

• Prepare patients for examination and treatment.

• Educate patients on discharge instructions, when applicable.
• Handle telephone calls from clients, patients, physicians, pharmacies, and other staff.
• Address patient concerns within the scope of the position.
• Maintain patient records for clinical, medical, billing, and review purposes.
• Assist with scheduling tests and treatments.
• Complete opening and closing procedures.
• Maintain disposable and non-disposable supplies.
• Assist with annual training as needed.
• Help produce and maintain patient education materials.
• Keep work and treatment areas clean and professional.
• Accept and handle special projects as assigned.
• Perform other duties as needed.

• Take patient histories and vital signs
• Prepare patients for examination and treatment
• Dispense medication as directed
• Educate patients on discharge instructions, when applicable

Rotating Schedule

Our clinic operates with two shifts: Shift A and Shift B. Staff will work on a rotating schedule, including every other weekend. Below is a sample schedule:

Compensation

Starting at $15 per hour
