The City of Kenmore is looking to fill (1) temporary seasonal position within the Public Works Operations Department.
Start Date: April-May
Duration: 5-6 Months
Compensation: $26.43 - $33.56 per hour (DOQ)
FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Summary
Under the direction of the Street & Surface Water Maintenance Supervisor, this position is required to perform a variety of unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled maintenance and repair tasks within a specific area of the Public Works Department. Perform general grounds maintenance duties including preparation of walking trails and fields at assigned city and park sites, or basic maintenance tasks in City rights-of-way including vegetation control, asphalt, concrete, gravel, and drainage repairs. Operates a range of small powered and specialized equipment. Provide support for special events. May perform duties of similar complexity in other maintenance areas as required or assigned.
Because of the small size of city staff, each staff member is expected to perform a wide range of field duties as may be required from time to time.

Education and Experience:
This position typically requires a High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Preferred (but not required): Previous experience in maintenance or other related work/field experience.
Licenses and Certificates:
Must be 18 years or older and possess a valid Washington State driver’s license or the ability to obtain one at time of employment. A good driving record is required in order to drive a City vehicle and perform work throughout the City of Kenmore at various locations. If you are selected, you will be required to obtain a driving record from the State and submit it to the City.
