Job summary

New Jersey Tourism Industry Association is seeking polished Boutique Assistants to join a luxury boutique environment in Rutherford, NJ. This role emphasizes warm client service, high-touch experiences, and collaboration with a boutique team.

The position offers full-time and part-time opportunities with a pay rate of $24–$25 per hour, 35 hours weekly, and requirements to work nights and weekends. Duration is October 2026 through February 2027, with benefits available for associates.

Qualifications

• Experience in luxury retail, hospitality, upscale restaurants, hotels, customer service, or another high-touch service environment.
• Polished, approachable, and professional presence.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong computer and technology skills; SAP experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm, welcoming, and polished environment for every client.
• Support the boutique team with appointment preparation, client entertainment, product presentation, gift wrapping, and food and beverage service.
• Assist with preparing the boutique for client appointments and creating an elevated experience.
• Help manage boutique traffic, appointments, and client flow.
• Assist with client service requests, including watch sizing, strap changes, complimentary cleaning, engraving, embossing, and other personalization services.
• Assist clients with personalized requests such as restaurant reservations, directions, entertainment recommendations, floral orders, and other concierge-style services.
• Support incoming phone calls, messages, and appointment-setting inquiries.
• Maintain the organization and presentation of client-facing areas, wrap rooms, and hospitality spaces.
• Replenish supplies and maintain organized sales and hospitality areas.
• Assist with boutique opening and closing procedures.
• Partner with the operations team to maintain supplies and non-sellable inventory.
• Support special projects and other boutique needs as assigned.
• Follow all security, operational, and service standards.
• Work collaboratively with sales associates, management, and operations to create a seamless client experience.
