Job summary

Beaufort County is seeking a dedicated lifeguard instructor to provide swimming and safety instruction at a public facility. The role involves teaching water safety, lifesaving, and exercise classes while ensuring patrons follow rules and remain safe.

Responsibilities include monitoring swimmers, conducting rescues when needed, and assisting with special programs. Requires ARC Lifeguard and CPR certifications and one month of related experience.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification.
• Must possess and maintain current CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

• Conducts protective service work to ensure the safe use of the swimming facility by patrons.
• Provides water rescue as needed and CPR or first aid treatment to injured or ill patrons.
• Observes actions of swimmers and maintains discipline in and around pool facilities.
• Enforces pool and water safety rules in a tactful and effective manner.
• Teaches swimming, lifesaving, water exercise, and other water-related instructional classes to all age groups.
• Assists in administering training sessions and ensures that teaching materials are picked up and put away after each session.
• Maintains swimming pool and surrounding area to ensure cleanliness and sanitation of recreational facilities.
• Assists with various special projects, community programs and recreational functions.
