Beaufort County Council seeks a swimming instructor to provide instruction and safety at a public swimming facility. The role includes teaching swimming, lifesaving, and water exercise to all ages, ensuring safety, and assisting with training sessions.
Candidates must hold American Red Cross Lifeguard and CPR certifications, with certifications submitted with the application. Drug screening and background checks apply to selected applicants.
The purpose of this position is to provide swimming and safety instruction to ensure the safety of patrons at a County’s public swimming facility. Employees are responsible for teaching various swimming activities as well as assisting with special functions. This class works under close to general supervision according to set procedures but determines how or when to complete tasks.
The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
All applicants tentatively selected for a position with Beaufort County Council will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for the illegal use of drugs and to a background check prior to appointment. Employment is contingent upon clearing both the drug screening and background investigation.
Some Beaufort County departments maintain more than one office location. Beaufort County reserves the right to transfer employees in both short term and long term capacities to an alternate location at any time for any reason.
