Job summary

The Colorado House of Representatives is seeking a versatile House Services Clerk for the upcoming legislative session. This seasonal in-person role provides administrative support to ensure smooth daily operations within the House of Representatives.

Responsibilities include handling printing requests, managing mail and inventory, coordinating volunteers, and updating the public website calendar. Strong communication and neutrality are essential; prior clerical experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel), Google Office Suite, and Zoom; WordPerfect preferred.
• Ability to maintain strict nonpartisanship, confidentiality, and integrity across both sides of the political aisle.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a fast-paced, politically charged environment.
• Prior clerical experience preferred; legislative experience not required but preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responds to questions from legislators, legislative aides, lobbyists, staff, and the public.
• Fulfills requests for printing, correspondence, stationery, and name badges.
• Registers volunteer lobbyists and maintains records.
• Manages mail distribution and billroom filing.
• Maintains records of physical inventory and purchases.
• Updates the social calendar on the legislature's public website.
• Manages House Services workflow and delegates tasks to student interns.
