The House of Representatives, in the Colorado General Assembly, in Denver, seeks a versatile House Services Clerk for a seasonal role from November through May 2027. You will provide administrative and operational support to ensure smooth daily functioning of the House of Representatives.

The House of Representatives, alongside the Senate, is one of the two chambers of the Colorado General Assembly. It consists of 65 members who are elected from specific Representative Districts. The primary function of the Chief Clerk's Office, within the House of Representatives, is to provide nonpartisan assistance and advice to the Speaker of the House and members of the House of Representatives to aid in meeting the legal and parliamentary processes and requirements of the lawmaking process. The Chief Clerk's Office also provides administrative and logistical support to all 65 Representatives, their legislative aides, and majority and minority caucus staff.
The Chief Clerk's Office is seeking a versatile, professional, and detail-oriented individual to fill a seasonal role as a House Services Clerk before and during the upcoming legislative session (November through May). Operating under the supervision of the Assistant Chief Clerk, the House Services Clerk provides administrative and operational support to ensure the smooth daily functioning of the House of Representatives.
This position is not part of the state classified personnel system and therefore does not have an appeals procedure.
The salary for the position is $225 per day. The House of Representatives provides a competitive benefits package, including eligibility for health and dental insurance and your choice of Defined Benefit or Defined Contribution PERA retirement plan. Temporary employees receive five days of sick leave, in accordance with House policies.

Based on performance, the House Services Clerk may be asked to return for future legislative sessions. This is a perfect opportunity for a candidate with prior employment with the State of Colorado, who is looking to add to PERA years of service. However, the position is expected to exceed PERA's 110-day limit on working after retirement without a reduction in benefits.
