Job Duties

• Assist with grounds and equipment maintenance (mowing, painting, weed eating, janitorial duties, light brush and tree trimming).
• Operate equipment such as riding and push lawn mowers, weed eaters, basic hand tools, and trucks with trailers.
• Use personal protective equipment as required in hazardous environments.
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing, including using telephones and radios.
• Represent the City professionally and courteously.
• Assist supervisors and departmental personnel with various projects.
• Learn and follow standardized work procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Six months of experience in grounds maintenance.

Additional Information

• This position is not covered by KPERS.
• Must pass all pre-employment tests and background checks.
