General Description:
The Town of East Longmeadow is seeking seasonal manual laborer(s) to perform work that is typically repetitive in nature and involves the performance of manual laboring tasks as instructed by others.
Primary Essential Functions:
Manual labor tasks include weed whacking, string trimming, hand shoveling, painting of fire hydrants and sign posts, hand loading/unloading trucks and other vehicles, as well as the exercise of physical strength and endurance, working for extended periods under adverse weather conditions. Other manual duties may be assigned. Work is performed under the close supervision of a full time employee who assigns work, maintains production, and provides supervising advice and assistance.
Required Education, Skills, Training and Experience:
Valid Massachusetts Driver’s License Class D.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
