Brookings Municipal Utilities and Swiftel Communications in Brookings, SD is seeking a Seasonal Laborer to support our Electric Department. This part-time role performs maintenance, grounds keeping, and light equipment tasks under the supervision of full-time staff.

Our seasonal team plays a vital role in serving the Brookings community. This position is responsible for assisting our full-time staff with routine maintenance, performing various manual labor tasks, and general grounds keeping work. Candidate must be dependable, responsible and safety oriented.
Essential Functions

• Operates a company vehicle, including a small dump truck (CDL not required).
• Perform various duties in regards to maintenance, grounds keeping, and light equipment operation.
• Operate equipment, machinery and tools associated with mowing, raking, and planting.
• Assists with routine maintenance duties when needed.

Minimum Qualifications
1. High School Diploma or GED

Physical Demands

• May be exposed to noise, dust, dirt, grease, and machinery with moving parts.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal with occasional exposure to loud noise levels.
